Small update on Kathmandu
Hundreds of people are feared to have been killed and many more are injured after a 7.9 richter magnitude scale #earthquake rocked Nepal’s capital, collapsing buildings on top of victims and leveling temples in the worst tremor to hit to #Himalayan nation in 80 years.
Rescuers desperately worked to dig out people buried under collapsed buildings in the aftermath of the tremor, while dozens more wounded were being treated in field-hospital conditions outside the main hospital.
Nepal's home ministery saying 114 people have been reported dead with 71 killed in the capital Kathmandu and 43 in near by Bhaktapur
It is sad to see the terrible situation in Nepal & India that many got badly injured and many lost their life.
Natural disasters can unite South Asia into a family of friendly nations.
Update :
the Number went up to 449 People died and 150 in hospitals

Earthquake UNESCO World Heritage Sites collapsed
Truly awful sight. Kathmandu's Darbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in ruins after today's earthquake.
Kathmandu Durbar Square was the plaza in front of the old royal palace of the former Kathmandu Kingdom. It was one of three Durbar (royal palace) Squares in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The Durbar Square was surrounded with spectacular architecture and vividly showcases the skills of the Newar artists and craftsmen over several centuries. The royal palace was originally at Dattaraya square and was later moved to the Durbar square location.
The Kathmandu Durbar Square held the palaces of the Malla and Shah kings who ruled over the city. Along with these palaces, the square surrounds quadrangles revealing courtyards and temples. It is known as Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square, a name derived from a statue of Hanuman, the monkey devotee of Lord Ram, at the entrance of the palace. Buildings in the Durbar Square collapsed in the 25 April 2015 Nepal earthquake. ( thanks to wikipedia for the info )
The Earthquake had a 7.9 on the Richter magnitude scale
